| Extra Labor |
An extra charge of $50.00 per hour per person applies if the shipper and/or receiver requests Purolator’s assistance with loading, unloading, blocking or bracing a shipment, or other similar services. Extra labour charges are subject to a minimum charge of $200.00 per person and are calculated in 15 minute incrementsfrom the time Purolator’s employees depart from Purolator’s facility to the time Purolator’s employees return to Purolator’s facility, excluding any time spent servicing other customers. |
| Power Tailgate |
An extra charge of $85.00 per shipment applies if: (a) the shipper and/or receiver requests the use of a power tailgate; and/or (b) the shipper or receiver does not have an appropriate shipping/receiving dock to ensure the safe handling of the shipment. |
| Off-Day / Hour Service |
An extra charge of $50.00 per hour per person applies if the shipper and/or receiver requests that Purolator pick-up or deliver a shipment or perform any ancillary services thereto either: (a) before or after normal business hours; or (b) on a non-business day. Off-day/hour service charges are subject to a minimum charge of $200.00 per person and are calculated in 15 minute increments from the time Purolator’s employees depart from Purolator’s facility to the time Purolator’s employees return to Purolator’s facility, excluding any time spent servicing other customers. Normal business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays. |
| Advance Delivery Notification |
An extra charge of $20 per shipment applies each time Purolator is required (whether or not at the request of the shipper and/or receiver) to provide notice in advance of delivering a shipment. |
| Document Copies |
An extra charge of $4.50 per copy applies if the shipper and/or receiver requests an extra copy of a document pertaining to a particular shipment (e.g. bill of lading, proof of delivery etc.). Document copy charges are subject to a minimum charge of $18.00 per request. |
| Delay |
An extra charge of $80.00 per hour, calculated in 15 minute increments, applies if Purolator is required to wait at the point of origin or destination beyond the maximum wait times specified below:
- Shipment weighing 0 lbs. to 9,999 lbs.: 0.5 hour maximum wait time.
- Shipment weighing 10,000 lbs. to 19,999 lbs.: 1 hour maximum wait time.
Shipments weighing 20,000 lbs. to truckload: 1.5 hour maximum wait time. |
| Storage |
An extra charge of $1.60 per 100 pounds applies for each day (including weekends and holidays) that a shipment is held by Purolator beyond the original delivery date. Storage charges are subject to a minimum charge of $40.00 per day and a maximum charge of $200.00 per day per shipment. Storage is provided by Purolator in its sole discretion and only to the extent that it is incidental to the carriage. |
| Multiple Drop |
An extra charge of $140.00 per shipment applies to each pick-up and delivery point that is in addition to the pick-up and delivery points specified on the bill of lading. |
| Redelivery |
An extra charge of $5.00 per 100 pounds applies each time Purolator is required to re-attempt delivery of a shipment due to reasons beyond Purolator’s control, including (without limitation) where: (a) the shipper and/or receiver requests redelivery at a later time or to an address not originally noted on the bill of lading; or (b) no one is available to receive the shipment at the receiver’s address. Redelivery charges are subject to a minimum charge of $50.00 and a maximum charge $200.00 per shipment. |
| Limited Access |
An extra charge of $5.00 per 100 pounds applies if Purolator is required to either: (a) pick-up a shipment from, or deliver a shipment to, a place other than a standard shipping/receiving dock located at ground level; or (b) move all or part of a shipment from or to a position beyond the point directly accessible and immediately adjacent to Purolator’s equipment. Purolator will only pick-up, deliver or move all or part of a shipment to or from a floor above or below ground level if the floor is accessible to Purolator’s equipment by elevator or escalator and the labour required to operate same is provided to Purolator at no cost. Limited access charges are subject to a minimum charge of $50.00 and a maximum charge of $200.00 per shipment. |
